Two Poems by Peggy Landsman

Peggy Landsman, South Florida, USA

Salad Days

Thanks to Euell Gibbons for Stalking the Wild Asparagus

Dandelion greens

Milkweed pods

I lived alone

In the woods

Daylilies

Solomon's seal

I became one

With the weeds

Few belongings

But that book

The summer

I turned nineteen

Stalking the Wild...

I approached peaches

...Asparagus

Out of my mind

Lovely Milky Way

Lovely Milky Way,

Hold me in your spiral arms.

Keep my planet safe.
