Matt Carrano & Tom Laughlin (Massachusetts, USA)

 

After completing college and working for a number of years in the technology sector, Matt Carrano studied painting and drawing at the Cambridge Center Studio School, Massachusetts College of Art and Design, and the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, Massachusetts (USA). Matt currently maintains a studio in Somerville, Massachusetts and has exhibited his work nationally throughout the USA. He is the founder and first president of Somerville Open Studios, a non-profit organization that gives established and emerging artists a chance to show and sell work through an annual citywide program and related events. Tom Laughlin is a Professor of English and Coordinator of the Creative Writing Program at Middlesex Community College in Massachusetts in the USA where he coordinates a visiting writers series; open readings for students; and the publication of the online literary magazine Dead River Review. He was a volunteer staff reader for many years for Ploughshares and has taught literature classes in two Massachusetts prisons. His poetry has appeared in Green Mountains Review, Ibbetson Street, Drunk Monkeys, Sand Hills, Blue Mountain Review, Pensive, The Main Street Rag, Superpresent Magazine, and elsewhere.
