Ashwani Kumar (Mumbai, India)

Ashwani Kumar is a poet, political scientist, and professor at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. His poetry, widely published, anthologized, and translated into several Indian and international languages include the collections My Grandfather’s Imaginary Typewriter, Banaras and the Other, and Map of Memories. He has recently edited Rivers Going Home and Scent of Rain, both significant anthologies in contemporary Indian poetry. He also curates the Hummingbirds Chapbook Poetry Series with Red River.
